GridScout PA — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to GridScout PA ("we", "our", or "the app"), a free Pennsylvania electric and natural gas rate-comparison tool for iOS and Android. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.

Information We Collect Directly

The app itself collects minimal data to function:

• Utility selections — Your chosen electric and gas utility are stored locally on your device (iOS UserDefaults / Android SharedPreferences) to personalize the experience. This data never leaves your device.
• No account required — We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers.
• No location data — The app does not access or store your location.

Local Storage

All preferences (selected utilities, view state) are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store user data. Rate data is fetched from publicly available Pennsylvania regulatory sources (PAPowerSwitch and PAGasSwitch, published by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission) and is not personalized.

Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

• Apple StoreKit (iOS) and Google Play Billing (Android) — used for the optional in-app purchase to remove ads. Transactions are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive or store payment information. Apple Privacy Policy · Google Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob and its mediation partners (iOS and Android) — display advertising. AdMob and any third-party ad networks integrated through AdMob mediation may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve, measure, and improve ads. • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — handles consent for ad personalization in regions where required (e.g. EU/UK). Google Privacy Policy

Advertising

Where ads are shown, advertising partners may use device identifiers (such as the Apple Advertising Identifier / IDFA on iOS or the Android Advertising ID) and limited usage data to serve, measure, and improve ads. On iOS, personalized advertising that uses the Advertising Identifier is subject to Apple's App Tracking Transparency; you control it in your device settings. In jurisdictions where required, we present a consent prompt before personalized advertising. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.

Analytics

We do not use first-party analytics or behavioral tracking SDKs. The third-party advertising SDKs listed above may collect their own measurement data under their respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The app is a general-purpose utility comparison tool and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
